Color Theory and Font

In this blog post I am going to be talking about the font that I picked for my film opening and color theory that I researched

Font:

The font that we decided on is the one below

 Wagnesday Regular

It matches the thriller vibe and the location we are filming at as well. Font is important because it conveys a message or a feeling. Font is also supposed to catch people's attention and I think this font does that well. Thrillers are often mysterious and this font reminds me of a puzzle the way the letters fit together so I think it conveys the feeling of a thriller.

Color Theory:

The two colors im focusing on researching on were red and black. Color schemes are used to add to the mood and emphasize things that are important. I researched what colors I could use to emphasize what I need for my film.

Black often symbolizes secrets and the unknown in spy thrillers so in the opening we are planning on making the female protagonist Valeria dress in all black to add to the mystery of her character and symbolize her guarded/secret identity. Black is also used for shadows so dressing her in black is symbolizing blending her into the background and trying to make her go unnoticed.

Red is often times associated with negative emotions and connotations like danger, anger, blood. In my film I want the female protagonist wearing red lipstick so symbolize she is dangerous since that will be the only pop of color in the outfit it acts as a sort of warning sign. I also want the poison being used on the target to be red to symbolize the effect it is supposed to have on the target.

In reflection the font we have chosen reflects the genre as well. The colors being focused on in the film opening all have a purpose that is to help the film convey its message of not underestimating the women and that she is dangerous.
